  Rick Harwood is the owner of Harwood Home for Funerals, and Harwood Home for Funerals owns Mountain View Memorial Park in Black Mountain. A few weeks ago I was at the cemetery visiting my aunt and uncle's grave when Mr. Harwood pulled up. I'm not sure as to why he was there, but when he came over to speak with me his breathe about knocked me down. He had a strong smell of alcohol on his breathe. I was not as offended by that as I was when he hoped back in his vehicle and drove away risking peoples lives. As a business owner in the community, he should be be held to a higher standard. Nothing that we said to me was offensive, but his actions were. I would not trust him personally with my parents at this point.

  Rick Harwood is a caring compassionate operator of the local funeral home. I've been to several funerals there and it has always felt right.
  
  The funeral home has a good working relationship with the local churches and the building is of adequate size to handle most funerals.
  
  There has been some local drama over Mr. Harwood's desire to add a cremation operation to his services and as a result some individuals have made some rather mean and false statements about the funeral home and it's director.
